Happy Easter

I just finished putting Meghan's Easter basket together for tomorrow morning. I made the tag using Birthday Bash for the scallop circle tag and Noah's ABC Animals for the rabbit. The stamp set sentiment is from K Andrew Designs.

Happy Easter Card

It feels like there is no time in between St Patrick's Day and Easter this year. I just sent out some St Patrick's Day cards and Easter is already this weekend. Oh well, at least I will get a few Easter cards done to send out.

I used the Teddy Bear Parade cartridge to make this sweet bunny bear. The sentiment is from Mary at CardzTV. I used some Crystal Effects on the bears nose. I used a Copic light pink marker to go around the bunny outfit to ad some definition. The egg paper is from a BIG DCWV paper pack I got recently. It has awesome papers for every major holiday throughout the year.

Teddy Bear Parade

I LOVE my Teddy Bear Parade Cricut cartridge. I also love to have teddy bears on hand so all I have to do is cut out the clothes. I cut these bears at 3.5 on my Gypsy because I could fit the most bears on an 8.5" x 11" piece of cardstock. I'm planning on making some fun Easter cards with some of these.

BLOG CANDY ALERT!!!

Leave a comment below by midneight Monday March 25th EST for a chance to win some bakers twine samples and surprise embelishments.  The winner will be announced next week!

My FAVORITE Cricut cartridge to use for baby projects is the Baby Steps cartridge.

I made this 8x8 baby album for a friend's baby shower using just the Baby Steps cartridge.  If you are making an album like this as a gift, the Baby Steps cartridge makes it SO easy for you.  It covers all the major milesotones of a baby from birth to when they become a toddler and their first birthday.  I actually still use this for my 3 year old, so you can really utilize the features for a long time.

You can watch this video to get a full view of the completed album.

I also made my friend a diaper cake to bring along to the baby shower as a focal point.  I love to make these and they are so easy to do.  I used the Baby Steps cartridge again to make clothes to put on the bakers twine clothes line that I put on top of the "cake."  View the video below for a better look.

I thought I'd leave the horribly sad info for the end of this post as I couldn't just leave it out.  My friend had her baby with a normal delivery, but unfortunately baby Grace passed away from a very sudden and severe septic infection a little more than 24 hours after she was born.  We are all so heartbroken to lose such a sweet baby girl.

Monsters Inc. Puppets

We're having a sleep over with my niece this weekend for her birthday. Meghan is SO excited. We're planning on watching Monsters Inc together. I cut these characters at 10" using the Best of Pixar Cricut cartridge. I later decided to laminate them so they don't get torn apart in five minutes. I hot glued tongue depressors to the backs so the girls can play with them like puppets.

I bought a $1 foam board and turned it into Boo's door. I glued a pocket on the back to keep the puppets in.

More Fun With Duct Tape

My dad requested a dozen bright yellow duct tape rose pens. His favorite band, The Jive Aces, will be coming back to the states soon and he wants to hand them out at their concert. I made a duct tape suit jacket for a bear to match the ones the band wears. This was for my dad's birthday. I am contemplating redoing his birthday card to make a yellow suit card.

I found out that the Duct tape factory is in Avon Ohio which isn't too far from my area. We may have to plan a special trip to get a tour and see all the fun stuff they make using duct tape.

New Spring Wreath

I wrapped a foam wreath with some green fuzzy yarn that I had in my stash. I've made a LOT of these crocheted flowers so I had plenty to glue to my wreath. I glued the buttons to the flower centers and added some of my beaded stick pins....still have a LOT of those in my stash too. I cut the bumble bees from the Pooh and Friends cartridge and added some Stickles to their wings. Loving my new Spring wreath.

Monsters Inc. Birthday Card

I welded a balloon from Create a Critter to Mike from Monsters Inc...found on The Best of Pixar cartridge. I used some green and white Darice bakers twine as the string on the balloon. My niece is turning 3 years old this week and this is her special birthday card. Monsters Inc is one of her favorite movies. The sentiment is from Mary at CardzTV.

I created the door using George and Basic Shapes. The flowers are from George as well.

I spent awhile today figuring out how to make daffodils out of this light yellow duct tape that I found at Dollar General. These are for my daughter's preschool sign in table.

Some ScrapHappy Paper Crafter cards

If you haven't followed me for very long, I also manage www.scraphappypapercrafter.com where I offer lots of free digital stamps. Here are some fun St. Patrick's Day cards that I've been working on for Meghan's teachers. I used Mary's new stamp set from CardzTv.

The Death of Bachelorhood

My husband is planning his brothers bachelor party, so he had me help with the invites and a mock tombstone to mourn the loss of bachelorhood. ;-)

I used the Happy Hauntings cartridge to make the tombstones. On the large one I used Birthday Bash for the font. I just hand wrote bachelorhood on the small ones and drew some cracks on the tombstones. I inked the cards up with Tim Holtz Tea Die Distress Ink. The cloud stamp is from Close To My Heart. www.thecricutchirp.ctmh.com

Blog Candy = assorted samples of bakers twine and surprise craft embellishments

My daughter's bathroom has had an Elmo theme since she was a baby. Now that she is 3 and a half I decided it was about time to get rid of Elmo and do something different.  Meghan is really into Hello Kitty at the moment, but I don't have that hard to find cartridge, so I decided to make due with what I have.  I used Create a Critter 2 for the cat, but you can also find it on Create a Critter.  I removed the nose and whiskers with my gypsy and replaced it with an oval from George and Basic Shapes, welding the images together.  Then I cut out another oval a quarter inch smaller for the pink nose.  She really does look a lot like Hello Kitty, who has three whiskers instead of two.  Hello kitty also has a black line all around, her so I had to ad the blackout shadow as well.  I cut the outfits from Teddy Bear Parade.  I LOVE how the bow holder turned out.  I am a little hooked on making my daughter hair bows.  She never goes to preschool without wearing one.  I embossed the mermaid fin with my Cuttlebug and it looks so awesome in person.  I used the grass folder and another that looks like reptile scales.

I put vinyl in the shower using the Once Upon A Princess Cartridge.

I just used my ATG gun to attach these cuts to the wall in Meghan's bathroom by the sink.  The fence is from Paper Doll Dress Up and the tree is from Simply Charmed.  The tree also comes with lemons to cut, but I opted not to cut those as they didn't quite go with the Hello Kitty theme.

Meghan's preschool class has been working on their numbers, so I made this fun clock for her to take to "show and share" this week.  The kids really enjoyed playing with the arrows and moving them around.  The numbers, and circles were cut using Birthday Bash while the arrows are from Paper Doll Dress Up.  I cut the ends of the arrows off to make them look more like clock hands.  This went together so fast as I just ran the 1" numbers through my Xyron Sticker Maker.

My dad's birthday is coming up soon, so I decided to make him a card using Birthday Bash for the banner and County Fair for the Ferris wheel and drink cup.  The grass was cut using a grass punch that I have.  The ticket stamps are from Mary at CardzTV (TICKET TALK 2).  I used Crystal Effects on the banner that is on a piece of green and white bakers twine and foam tape.  I stuck a brad in the middle of the Ferris wheel, which turned out super cute.  I used Tim Holtz Tea Die Distress ink around the edges of the tickets and grass.

I got the Car Decals cartridge a LONG time ago planning to make something for my car.  I decided now was a good enough time to do it.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!  These were cut using my Gypsy to fit the top half of my Cricut mat with black Cricut brand vinyl.  I tried cutting it smaller but it was much harder to work with.

My mom's 60th birthday was on the 8th, so I decided to make her a bouquet of my duct tape rose pens.  I got the vase from my local Dollar General for $2 and used some rocks from the same store ($1) to fill up half of the vase so the pens stick into the rocks.  The tag was cut using Sweet Treat Boxes and the sentiment stamp is from Close To My Heart.

This little notebook was cut using the roof cut from Sweet Treat Boxes. I removed the score lines in order to make the perfect notebook cover.  I love using a cut from something totally different than it was originally intended for!  The tea pot comes from Once Upon A Princess.  I decorated it up a bit using my Copics and a rhinestone.  I inked around the edges of everything with Tim Holtz Tea Die Distress Ink to give this a shabby chic sort of look.  This is also for my mom's birthday.  I ran a bead of hot glue down the spine and adhered some green paper inside using my Your Story.  I recently scored that for $40 at www.cricutmachine.com if you are looking into getting one.  I LOVE IT!

I used Coredinations cardstock cut at 3" for the below roses from the Flower Shoppe cartridge.  This was the first time that I attempted putting them on a floral wire stem and I really like how they look.  I plan on making some more flowers to ad to this vase, maybe the daisy next.  I did cut off one of the six petals when forming the inner bud as I found it to be easier to assemble that way.  I also cut the petals further down towards the center to make it easier to hot glue.I wrapped the floral wire with green floral tape.  I may have to do a video on these sometime soon to show my preferred method of assembling these roses.
