Free Cricut Project

I wanted to try one of the free Cricut projects, so decided to go with this movie night project. I am not of fan of this one. I don't recommend cutting the movie tickets. I did at first and the small sizing and details just made it a major pain to piece them together. I ended up doing a print and cut for the tickets and was much happier with them. The red had to be glued to the box so that was a lot to put glue on and line up. This was definitely not a favorite project. I think I will fill this with a special popcorn and attach a gift card to the movies inside the card as a birthday gift for my dad.

Family Craft Night Project

I'm trying to be better this year about doing crafts with my 5 year old daughter, Meghan. This is what we made last night.

Scene cards

I love doing scene cards and Design Space is making it much easier to get creative with the scenes that I make. Here are a couple that I did recently for my birthday card stash.

I used the print and cut feature for the Eiffel Tower since it was way too small to cut that many details.

Baby Shower Card

Well the bad thing about using Design Space is that I totally don't pay attention to what cartridge the cuts come from anymore. That's not all that helpful for my  blog followers, so I will have to start writing down where the cuts come from.

This card is for a baby shower for my sister in law.

A congratulations card

I made two of these cards tonight for people in my department at work that got promotions to other areas.

Birthday Card

We ended up getting my niece a bunch of Minnie Mouse stuff for my niece's 3rd birthday, so I decided we needed to make her a different card to match.

She loved her!

Sizing with Design Space

One of the things that I really like about Design Space and the Cricut Explore is having the ability to lay out everything easily on the screen and know that all of the cuts are going to fit on my card.

I also like that the Explore can cut smaller images better than my Expression did. I don't think I would have bothered doing a sun this small before.

Having the ability to quickly search for images means that I am using more of the cuts I have available too. The sun is from Pooh and Friends and I hadn't used that cartridge in awhile. The grass is from Paper Doll Dress Up and I probably wouldn't have looked there for grass. The searching function seems to work better than the one on my Gypsy too.

Thank you cards

When I first got a Cricut I fell in love with making punny cards like these. The Create a Critter cartridge has always been a favorite of mine. It was fun this evening to play around with some punny cards again.
