Paper Piecing Cow instead of the SVG

This cow may look super cute now, but it was a pain in the butt to put together. I got the SVG file from Miss Kate Cuttables. It would have probably been great as a print and cut, but I wanted to try it as an SVG instead. That black outline was way too small to work with. I really didn't like the eyes so I put the googly eyes on instead. I also don't like that the eyebrows aren't black. I could play with this a bit and make it bigger and I bet it would be much better.

I did love the ability to print and cut the tag for the birthday card.

Print and Cut

I have to say that the "print and cut" Cricut Explore feature feels a little like cheating to me. It's a great way to make some quick cards that I needed done ASAP, but I still feel like the cuts would have been cuter as fully pieced die cuts.

Christmas projects

I finished the goodie bags for my daughter's Kindergarten Christmas party. I did 2 dozen bags, six of each design shown.

I cut the snowflakes from the Sweethearts cartridge using my Cricut Explore for the first time. It definitely made this project go by much faster. It's going to take me awhile to get used to the Design Space software though. I can't remember where the tree and star came from. The snowman I didn't use the Cricut for at all, just a circle punch and the rest by hand.

I also put together 24 craft kits for the kids to do a Christmas craft. This was a fun project. I cut the trees and stars with the Cricut Explore.

I know the kids will have fun decorating their plates this Friday.

Cricut Explore

I know I am quite a bit late getting one, but I finally got a Cricute Explore. I bought a "like new" one for $125. It was just missing the cables to it, but the cables to my Expression work with it. I am just getting used to Design Space, but I think I'll like it.

Goodie bags

I'm making the goodie bags for my daughter's Kindergarten class party for Christmas. No Cricut required so far. I have white, green and red craft gift bags that I picked up at Joann's. My daughter and I made these tonight with the white ones. I had her help glue the eyes and noses on. We used a one inch circle punch for the eyes. I hand cut the noses and scarfs. I just drew on the smiles with marker.

Christmas Tree Cards

Christmas Card Time 2014

I haven't crafted much in awhile. It felt good to turn my Cricut on again and make a few Christmas cards today. I am looking forward to making some more.

Freezer paper stencil

This project is so not perfect, but it is still cute. I created a freezer paper stencil using a lot of different cartridges. After ironing on the stencil I got a bit too sloppy with my fabric paint because I was in too much of a hurry to get it done. Note to self, don't do fabric paint in a hurry.

Vinyl iron on

Wall Decor and More cartridge

This is a very cheap canvas bag that I got off from EBay. I had some vinyl scraps that I used to personalize the bag. I washed and dried it. Inside the bag is a yellow strip of fabric. When I ironed the bag from the inside some yellow ink got on my iron and stained the front of the bag. Big Grrrrr!!! If I can't get it out I may have to strategically place a flower there. The more I think about it, a flower would look really cute there :-).

All fixed. Looks better with a flower anyway.

USA banner

I used Birthday Bash and George and Basic Shaped to make this banner for our World Cup party.

I made out tshirts using the Independence Day cartridge. I cut the age on freezer paper and then ironed it on to the tshirt. I painted the stencil with fabric paint and then removed the freezer paper after it dried.

Paisley cartridge

I used the Paisley cartridge to cut the lipstick for these cards. I'm stocking up on them for Avon. I embossed some paper with the x and o folder I have.

Sweethearts cartridge wedding

My friend is getting married this weekend so I've been working on some things for her gift. I used the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge.

Pizza card

I actually made a big paper pizza and cut it into slices so I could make a bunch of pizza cards. This was so fun. I used Elegant Edges for the crust, sauce and cheese layers. I cut the toppings from Simply Charmed and George and Basic Shapes.

Cinderella card Paperdoll

I have been having a horrible day, so I decided to make a card. I asked my daughter Meghan what I should make and she said to do a Cinderella card.

I used Paperdoll Dress Up for the doll base, hair, castle and shoes. I got the dress from Once Upon a Princess and trimmed the sleeves off a bit. I also trimmed the hair a little to accommodate the headband that I made.

I put a hidden message inside the castle doors.

Easter cards

I'm babysitting today and decided to do an easy card class with my daughter and the kids that came over.

I used Create a Critter to make the baskets and grass and Spring Cottage for the eggs. The kids had fun being little card makers for awhile.

Create a Critter Turtle card

Owl cards

I found these cute owl stickers at my local Family Dollar store. They look so cute in these cards!

I used Hoot N Hollar for the tree branches.
