A Great Cricut Gift

Hi Crafty Cricut Lovers!!!

This is one of my favorite Cricut gifts that I've done so far.  I used an upcycled spaghetti sauce jar and covered with some scrapbook paper and ribbon.  I used my ATG gun to adhear to the jar, which works great.  If you have a Xyron sticker maker that works really well too for adhearing labeling to jars.  I added the ribbon with the ATG gun too.

I used the Preserves cartridge to cut the circle for the top of the jar.  I cut one in black and covered the top and then cut another black circle and covered that one with the red circle so I could use foam squares to pop it off the jar.  I used the Birthday Bash cartridge to cut the "M" which turned out to be the perfect font for an M&M candy.  The test, I showed my 3 year old daughter and she knew what it was right away saying, "I want to eat it....nam nam nam nam."

I used twine from K Andrew Designs and the sentiment is from her "More Food For Thought" set.  This project was a gift for a girl at work that got a promotion.  I really want to do something on a smaller scale with baby food jars for some RCK gifts.

Create A Critter 2 --- SOOOOO EXCITED

Ok so if you've followed my blog for very long then you know my ALL TIME favorite cartridge is Create A Critter.  A coworker told me today that they are coming out with Create a Critter 2 and I am SO EXCITED!!!  I really hope I'm not disappointed with it since I love the first one so much.  I suppose sequel cartridges are a lot like sequels to movies that you really love.  How can it possibly outshine your expectations of the first one???

Wild Card 2 was like this for me.  I was slightly disapointed with this cartridge because it was just too similar to the first Wild Card.  It's like they took the same images and just created new fonts. From what I can tell, you will partially have this issue with Create a Critter 2.

Though the artist used some of the same characters in Create a Critter 2, the designers changed them into different poses and added AWESOME dress up clothes for them.  Right now a lot of us just use different cartridges, like Paper Doll Dress Up, to add clothes to our Critters.  Now Create a Critter 2 will combine all of this fun into one cartridge.  How awesome is that!!!!

Here are the pictures that I've found so far of this sweet new cartridge  that will be "officially" released in around 2 weeks.  Though I hear that some JoAnns stores are secretly keeping them behind the counter and may sell them to a savvy Cricut user if asked about it.

I used the Pooh and Friends cartridge on this birthday card. I love using the Of Mice and Little Men K Andrew Designs stamp set with Disney cuts.

Sunday, August 19, 2012

Have you ever wanted to cut every single cut from one of your Cricut cartridges? Well, I have really thought about doing this. I contemplated Create A Critter, but that would be too easy since I know I love all the cuts on that cartridge and they are super easy to implement into any project. Oh yeah, I'd have to USE all the cuts too. No cutting them and placing them in a stash to use SOMEDAY. So what cartridge would you recommend doing the above idea with???

A fun Create a Critter card. I used some K Andrew Designs stamps on this card.

How Does Your Garden Grow Blog Hop

Welcome to the My Cricut Craft Room
 "How Does Your Garden Grow"
Blog Hop.

Here's my project for the hop

I used the Freshly Picked cartridge for the gazebo, watering can, garden gloves, gate, and the flower pot with the pink flowers I used Create a Critter for the clouds, small part of the gate, and all the other flowers.  I used Every Day Cards for the tree with the swing.  I love how this turned out.  I found the frame at GoodWill for $2.00.  I hope to do more projects like this in the future...maybe a princess scene for my daughter's room

Stickers From My Stash

Hello Cricut Lovers!!!

I hope you're having an excellent week.  I know mine has flown by pretty fast and I'm starting to feel the effects of "crafting withdrawl."  I definitely have not had enough time to myself to hang out in the craft room.  I got to for a little bit last night, but it got so hot in there that I gave it up.  It might be time to crank up the air conditioning again.  I think I'm looking forward to cooler weather.

Anyway, it's time for another chance to win some Stickers From My Stash.  My stash is still pretty big, so I'm sure I can do this for quite awhile.  :o)

If you could own ANY of the Cricut machines which one would you want and why.......

Answer below for your chance to win some stickers from my stash or a free personalized digi if you live outside the US.

Deadline : Sunday August 12th, 2012

Love You A Latte

I am so excited to finally get the Love You A Latte Cricut Lite cartridge. I was determined to wait until I could get it for a decent price online. I made this to hang on my cubicle at work. I thought it would be fun to do a coffee theme for my new desk. I love the coffee ribbon! I found it at Joann Fabrics and it has been hanging out in my big ribbon stash for quite awhile.
