Not doing well

I miss crafting. I've just been too sick after the c-section to do anything. Now I have a uterine infection accompanied by high fevers and terrible chills where my whole body shakes. Thankful that my mom could stay with me this first week out of the hospital as I definitely couldn't have managed on my own.

Been crafting something in my belly

Well you probably won't see any new Cricut creations from me for a little while. I had to have an unexpected c-section on 12/1 to deliver miss Molly this week. I'm still in the hospital til maybe Friday. I can't wait to get out of here. It feels like a prison cell.

Our six year old daughter, Meghan loves her new sister.

Cleaning the craft area

I'm actively "nesting" before the baby comes in a little over a week. I started on my craft room today. I found an envelope with five of these elves that I pieced together last Christmas. I decided to make some quick Christmas cards. I think I need about 7 more cards to have enough for my list, so I'll post more as I make them.

Thanksgiving card

I haven't crafted anything over the last couple weeks. Not feeling the best and it hurts like crazy to sit for too long.

3D Christmas Tree Fun

These are super easy to make and you can do it with a number of the evergreen trees available in Design Space. I cut out 4 trees at about 4" x 5" each. I attached a score line down the center of the trees so I could use my scoring tool and save time folding them. I cut the stars at about an inch. My daughter is going to help me decorate them for our mantel for Christmas.

I used some small glue dots to ad the tiny buttons and bakers twine to this one. I'll share more pictures later when we get more decorated.

Cards for the troops project

I'm super happy that I got back all of the cards that I sent with my daughter to school. Several of the elementary school classes helped color and write on the inside of the Christmas cards. All of the drawings are pictures that I made and have posted on my other blog www.scraphappypapercrafter.blogspot.com

For more information on how to get involved yourself go to

Here is the card that my daughter, Meghan did.

Some of the kids really did some awesome work on these cards.

Some of my favorites

120 cards ready to go.

I spent time today writing in the ones that I made using my Cricut. This has been such a fun and rewarding project. It was so great to get the kids involved with this and to have the teachers follow through.

Halloween goodie bags

I used the Elegant Edges cartridge to make the tops of these goodie bags for my daughter's class Halloween party this week. I did a print and cut using images from the Trick or Treat cartridge and the font from Happy Hauntings.

Baby Scrapbook

I started working on the scrapbook for our baby on the way. I used the Baby Steps cartridge to do the clothes line. Whenever I get little scraps of white paper I have been using my cloud punches and keeping the clouds in an envelope to use later.

Halloween card and everyday card

This card is for the challenge at CardzTV this week. I used mostly Paper Doll Dress  Up for this one. The leaves are from Create a Critter. I had to use the intricate cut setting for most of these since they are so small.

Hello Kitty cartridge and the clouds are all from my cloud punches.

Pumpkin Day Snacks

Tomorrow is pumpkin day at my daughter's school. It happened to fall on her snack day, so I just made pumpkin goodie bags for the snacks she chose.

The background is from Elegant Edges. I attached a score line in the middle of the piece to make folding easier. Then I sliced the same image in half and made it smaller to make the white part as a print and cut.

A spooky project

Miss Meghan, my six year old, didn't have school today. We decided to decorate the mantel for Halloween.

First I cut out 8 pumpkins from Create a Critter after removing the faces using the contour option on Design Space. I drew the faces on 4 of them and Meghan drew the faces on the other 4.

Then I asked Meghan what kind of things were spooky for Halloween. So I cut out a couple ghosts from Simply Charmed and spiders from Mini Monsters. I removed the faces from the leaves on Create a Critter so I could cut them out in one layer. To ad some dimension to the leaves I added some Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Strung up with some black and white baker's twine.

I folded the leaves to make the creases like the veins in real leaves.

Most of the cool 3d items are from the Happy Hauntings cartridge. I didn't like the faces on the original pumpkins, so I removed them and added faces from other pumpkins in Design Space. The ghost shown here is from Create a Critter 2.

Bat from Create a Critter 2.

We're pretty happy with the end result.

Meghan thinks it's kinda spooky.

Frozen Book Box

My daughter needs a book box for Kindergarten, so I've been working on this for her. I used mod podge to glue on the background papers last night so they had time to dry really well. Then today I cut the background image for the lid using Elegant Edges. Next I did a print and cut of Elsa and Anna. I mod podged all of that on. I had a bunch of Frozen stickers that I cut out to decorate the bottom of the box. Then I cut all the lettering out of pink vinyl. As a final touch I went over a bunch of the swirl patterns and over Elsa's dress with some Stickles Glitter glue.

I think we might decorate the inside with items that are not Frozen themed that Meghan really likes.

Tried to catch a picture of the Stickles.
